The Art of Debra Clemente

Visual recollections continually dance in my head until I give them another place to live.

My boldly graphic and energetic oil paintings express my colorful, luminescent, and optimistic views of life. Drawing from the deep well of my memories for inspiration I challenge myself to create a concrete expression of a dream -like vision. My painting process is as unique as each work of art I create. Wielding one too l, a large sturdy palette knife I paint: mixing, smoothing, layering, pushing, scratching and scraping oil paint on canvas. The resulting work retains the evidence of my energy and passion, delighting the eye from a distance as well as upon close study.                                                     -

No painting leaves my studio until it sings. They don't all have to sing the same song but each painting needs a strong voice and an enchanting melody. I love it when my art strike s a chord within someone else , resonating true to some experience in their own life. Hopefully recalling pleasant memories and bringing a smile, just as the process did for me.
